Give Like It’s Your Strategy

Edition #032

The moment you’ve all been dreaming of…

The “I’ve made it!” moment where you can finally stop the daily grind and shift your focus to giving back.

You’ve envisioned funding causes, surprising people with kindness, or being someone’s first investor or biggest cheerleader; following the common philosophy that, “Once you’ve made it, then radical generosity can begin.”

But what if that’s backward?

What if generosity isn’t the reward, but the path? What if starting today is precisely what will get you to that dream tomorrow?

The Idea of Radical Generosity

I’ve seen it time and again.

The people who practice generosity early and often are the ones who reach their dreams faster.

It’s not because they’re playing the game better; it’s because they’re building something far bigger than a business. They’re building community, trust, and unexpected momentum.

Generosity Creates Connection, and Connection Drives Opportunity

When you give without agenda—whether it’s your time, wisdom, support, or mentorship—people remember.

They refer.

They return.

They lift you up and speak your name in rooms full of opportunity, even when you don’t realize you’re being watched.

Giving without an agenda builds a reputation that precedes you in the best possible way.

Years ago, in a prior career, I volunteered for a women’s cancer charity. I was honored to work alongside many accomplished women helping others in crisis. Years later, one of the leaders of that charity learned about my goal to launch my coaching course, Design Your Decade. To my surprise, she offered me a platform to market the program and even a venue for a retreat. I had no idea how sharing my time and talents would come back as support when I needed it most!

When You Act from Abundance, You Build It Faster

Fear tells us, “Protect what’s yours.”
Generosity says, “There’s more where that came from.”

When clients ask, “Is this idea something we want to give away for free?,” my answer is always a resounding “Yes!”

Generosity always pays.

This mindset attracts people who want to build something meaningful with you, not just buy something from you.

Generosity Seeds Bloom When You Least Expect It

Helping someone in your network, sharing your templates, or making an introduction without hesitation—these acts are like planting seeds.

You can’t always predict when those seeds will bloom, but they will.

Sometimes it shows up as new clients. Sometimes it’s unexpected partnerships, a newfound peace of mind, or simply feeling like a better human at the end of the day.

And sometimes? It shows up as the person you needed most, appearing at exactly the right moment.

Takeaways

  • Generosity is a mindset, there isn’t a right time to start.
  • You don’t need millions in the bank to be a mentor, offer valuable tools, make connections, or provide encouragement.
  • Giving feels great!

If radical generosity is part of your long-term vision, why not start living that version of yourself in small ways today?

If you need a hand, let me know. I’m here to help.
